The RUMI motorbikes factory

In the post-war panorama, there is no doubt that RUMI played a role of primary importance for the economy and prestige of the city of Bergamo. RUMI motorbikes production grew significantly up to a capacity of 22,000 motorcycles/year produced by 1,500 employees (as of 1955).
From the very beginning Donnino Rumi’s attention to innovation was one of the elements of success for the company: technological innovation, with the adoption of always new design and construction techniques and organizational innovation, based on a very close collaboration between design, construction and experience on the road.

As Rumi and as a native of Bergamo, I am so proud of this story.

Here are some images taken from a catalog published by RUMI in 1953 that illustrate the main organizational units of the Company.
