The RUMI Factory
In the post-war panorama, there is no doubt that RUMI played a role of primary importance for the economy and prestige of the city of Bergamo. RUMI immediately grew significantly up to a production capacity of 22,000 motorcycles produced by 1,500 employees (as of 1955).
From the very beginning Donnino Rumi’s attention to innovation was one of the elements of success for the company: technological innovation, with the adoption of always new design and construction techniques and organizational innovation, based on a very close collaboration between design, construction and experience on the road.
As Rumi and as a native of Bergamo, I am so proud of this story.
Here are some images taken from a catalog published by RUMI in 1953 that illustrate the main organizational units of the Company.
